For Creators on Instagram

These are the current sounds and songs making the rounds on Instagram this week. If you’re a content creator or a normie (hi, it me!) and want to make a cute Reel with a trending sound, these are the ones to use.

Brands + Businesses Beware: These songs could get you in trouble if you use them. Depending on how your account is set up on Instagram, you might not even have the option to use these sounds.

This classic Billy Joel line is back, baby!! Creators are using it to reclaim their life choices. Whether it’s quirky habits or unexpected life decisions, it’s all about proudly living your truth.

How it works: Add text over the clip with something someone criticizes or questions, then let the lyric take over to show you don’t care and are doing it anyway.

Examples:

  • “When your friend questions if you have too many lipsticks”

  • “When my mom asks if I really needed another houseplant”

Great for: Lifestyle & fashion creators, anyone with hot takes or guilty pleasures

This playful lip-sync sound is blowing up. Use it to convince your followers (with a wink) that yes, they absolutely need that item or experience.

How it works: Pose a question like “Do I really need this?” Then cut to you lip-syncing “I’m telling you, you do!”

Examples:

  • Brands: “Do I need this lip gloss?” → “You do!”

  • Creators: “Another coffee?” → “You do!”

Great for: Product sellers, beauty, fashion, food creators

This circus-like tune is your go-to for moments when you’ve done something a bit goofy or embarrassing. If you’ve ever had a “why did I do that?” moment. This is your soundtrack.

How it works: Add text describing the silly or cringey thing you did. Pair it with you staring off into the distance, looking like you’re reliving the mistake.

Examples:

  • “Me after sending a risky text and getting left on read”

“Me booking a trip right before payday”

Great for: humor, lifestyle, and meme creators

This clever trend uses a looping footstep sound with a fake “press and hold” feature. It invites viewers to press and hold the screen, and make the person in the video move faster.

How it works: Overlay the video with a prompt like “Press and hold the circle to make them bring the coffee faster.” Add a walking person holding the item, and a circle graphic in the corner.

Examples:

  • “Press and hold to make the barista bring your drink faster”

  • “Press to speed up the server with your order”

Great for: Restaurants, cafes, creators with humor or retail content
